At Indian Hammer Vet Clinic, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and high-quality care to your beloved pets.  Our team is made up of experienced veterinarians and caring support staff, all committed to ensuring the health and well-being of your furry friends.

 

Dr. Nydam is a highly skilled veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in small and large animals. A graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Nydam has dedicated his career to advancing his expertise, particularly in orthopedic surgery. He has pursued additional education in this specialized field, becoming a skilled surgeon. He is committed to providing the highest standard of care to his patients. His extensive training allows him to tackle difficult surgical cases with confidence.  Outside of his professional life, Dr. Nydam enjoys spending time outdoors, where he find inspiration and relaxation. He shares his home with three beloved dogs who accompany him on many of his adventures.

Dr. Bjornstad is a friendly and dedicated  veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in both large and small animals. He has built a reputation for not only his skills and expertise but also for his warm and approachable demeanor, making him a beloved figure among his clients.  Graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where he honed his skills and passion for animal health and welfare.  Growing up on the Hi-Line, he developed a strong connection to the agricultural community and a deep appreciation for the role that large animals play. Dr. Bjornstad is happily married to his wife Kerry.  He has two daughters, Madison and Kimber, whom they are very proud of. Their family shares a love for animals and the outdoors. His blend of professionalism and humor, and genuine care for both animals and their owners makes him a trusted veterinarian and cherished member of his community. In his free time, he enjoys riding snowmobiles, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Cale Bjornstad, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Amanda Spencer became an associate at Indian Hammer Veterinary Service in 2023.  She graduated from University of Wisconsin- Madison School of Veterinary Medicine and found her way here to Montana.  Dr. Spencer has a passion for equine sports medicine, calf health and food animal medicine. Moving from Wisconsin with her husband, they share three dogs, two horses and a cat that keep her busy. In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking, hunting , fishing and riding her horse.

Veterinarian

Mel Richert has been the heart of Indian Hammer Veterinary Clinic since January of 2003, serving as the office manager. She is a cherished member of the Indian Hammer family and trusted resource for our staff and clients. Outside of the clinic, she is passionate about ranching and spending time with her husband and two children. She is also part of the Open Gate Ranch and helps with their annual bull sale held every March.

Mariah joined Indian Hammer in September of 2022. She has a passion for animal care and strives to ensure that every pet and owner feels welcomed and taken care of. Her organizational skills and commitment to excellent service have made her an essential part of the clinic team. In her free-time, Mariah enjoys spending time with Kooper, her Old English Bulldog. She also enjoys camping, fishing, and hanging out with her friends and family.

Laura has been with Indian Hammer since July of 2023. Known for her infectious sense of humor and warm personality, she creates a welcoming atmosphere for both clients and staff alike. Originally from a ranching background in central Oregon. She enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with her horse and two dogs, Rooster and Larado.

Stephanie is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with 12 years of experience. She has a passion for surgery and patient care. She is a proud pet parent to two dogs, Phoenix and Sydney. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, camping, attending concerts with her two boys, and ranching with her husband.

Sable is a dedicated veterinary technician with seven years of experience in Great Falls, Montana. She has recently joined the Indian hammer crew. She is originally from the small town of Gildford, where she was born and raised before moving to great falls with her husband Garrett. Outside of her career, Sable enjoys designing clothes, fishing, hunting and spending time with her family which includes her husband Garrett, and their beloved pets. Boone, a loyal German shepherd mix, and two playful wire-haired griffons, Evelynn and Rye.

Keely is a dedicated tech assistant that has been making a positive impact at Indian Hammer veterinary clinic for the past three years. Outside of the clinic she is a loving wife to her husband Clint, and a proud mother to their daughter Shayley. She also has three dogs, Bear, Riley and Tillie. Keeley has a passion for barrel racing and spend a lot of her free time in the arena.

Hannah joined our veterinary team in 2021 and has quickly become an invaluable member of our staff. As our youngest technician assistant, she is currently pursuing her education online with the goal of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) by 2025. Hannah has a genuine passion for animal care and enjoys every aspect of her job, with a particular fondness for working in surgery and caring for hospitalized patients. Outside of work, she loves spending quality time with her dog, Mozzie. She also  enjoys hiking and spending time with her family.

Hanna Rhodes

Technician Assistant

Dani joined the team one year ago, starting her journey here as a receptionist. Her passion for animal care and eagerness to learn have led her to transition into a veterinary assistant role where she is now gaining hands-on experience alongside the veterinarians and technicians. She has a busy life with her two children, Matty and Rhilyn and their two dogs, Orvis and River. In her free-time she enjoys fly-fishing, hiking, and taking her camera on her adventures.

Joella is our newest vet assistant, originally from Iowa she recently moved to Montana with her loving boyfriend and their four furry companions. She has been contributing her skills and love for animals for the past two years. Outside of work at the clinic, she enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, hiking, and hunting.
